While many people believe that hypnotherapy is limited to stopping smoking, weight loss, or stress-related conditions, hypnotherapy is also effective in bringing relief to many additional problems, including physical conditions. It would be impossible to list all of the symptoms that can be successfully treated through hypnosis, NLP, and EMDR, so the below is just an example of a few.
While holistic therapies such as hypnotherapy, EMDR, and NLP can enhance the well-being of individuals they should not take the place of medical treatment and advice, if you have any suspect symptoms or conditions please seek your doctor's advice before commencing holistically.

NLP

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) uses the language of the mind to bring about our specific and desired outcomes. NLP is about noticing our conscious and unconscious behaviour patterns and remodelling those patterns to achieve a swift and lasting change in the way we think and act. When doubts creep in all limited beliefs cause a change in our behaviour, creating a vicious circle of diminishing confidence and self-esteem. NLP breaks this cycle quickly and effectively. Using NLP gives you a competitive advantage in every aspect of your life.

NLP techniques allow you to tap into your subconscious, it also enables you to change habits, gives you personal empowerment, greater concentration and focus, enables you to set and achieve goals and also helps you gain control over your emotions. One of the greatest strengths of NLP is that it addresses not only the surface behaviours but also what lies beneath human behaviour – the emotional context and the things we learn over time, including habits and beliefs.

NLP techniques and tools enable you to get in touch with underlying programs that drive human behaviour. By changing our behaviour, we can change our actions and by doing so we can change our lives for the better.

EMDR

EMDR Therapy has been validated as an effective treatment to deal with trauma in whatever way it presents. EMDR Therapy has consistently shown effectiveness with issues involving negative memories that create blockages and challenges in a person’s quality of life.

Recalling a negative memory and doing eye movements or bilateral stimulation at the same time, has been shown to diminish the vividness of the memory and deflate the stored emotional charge on that memory. This works with highly charged traumatic memories and mildly negative memories. Once the vividness and emotional charge is deflated, the person is more easily able to recall and discuss the memories without feeling upset, and it no longer takes unnecessary energy from the brain and body systems.

Meditation

Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. You can also use it to relax and cope with stress by refocusing your attention on something calming. Meditation can help you learn to stay centred and keep inner peace.

When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress.

These benefits do not end when your meditation session ends. Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day. Meditation also may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions.

The emotional and physical benefits of meditation are endless, just to name a few, they include, lowering resting heart rate, lowering resting blood pressure, improving quality of sleep, managing stress, managing anxiety, managing depression, and reducing negative emotions, there are many other benefits too.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a simple and immensely powerful practise of training our attention. It is simple in that it’s really just about paying attention to what’s happening in the here and now (i.e., sensations, thoughts, and emotions) in a non-judgemental way. It is powerful because it can interrupt the habit of getting lost in thoughts, mostly about the future or past, which often generates more stress on top of the real pressures of everyday life.

I find that having many “tools” in my “toolbox” helps me to provide the best service possible. So, if you feel one focus is not for you, there are many more to choose from. I often find that an amalgamation of the above combined with hypnotherapy is often most effective.
